Brickey Returns To Duke

Brickey will coordinate off-campus camps, on-campus recruiting and coordinate various marketing efforts. Prior to his arrival at Shaw, he was an assistant coach at James Madison (2004-05), Southern Methodist (2002-04) and the United States Military Academy (2000-02).

The 52-year old Ramsey served as the Director of Athletics at Kentucky State from 1999-2003 and was the Director of Community Relations at Kentucky from 1998-99.
A Full Ride Looks Empty To Some NCAA Critics

At least 68 of 119 Division I football coaches have contracts for at least $1 million annually, according to coacheshotseat.com. Seven coaches in the SEC, including Georgia's Mark Richt, make at least $2 million. Seven in the ACC, including Tech's Paul Johnson, make at least $1.5 million. To compare, only five coaches in the nation earned as much as $1 million in 1999, according to USA Today.

Now I'm sure Doc Watkins is going to disagree with me on a lot of these points but I think a healthy discussion about this serious topic is in order; especially from those in the Black community because it is this particular community where most of the athletes are coming from for many of the schools (talent wise) and who are being affected the most by not being paid.

As a finance professor, I find the financial problems of the NCAA to be borderline criminal. As an educator, I find the educational mission of the NCAA to be fraudulent. As a black man who has seen what the NCAA does to the black community, I find myself simply offended.
