It is not the practice or policy of Black Coaches and Administrators to contact coaches with a promise of employment. This fraud includes subsequent conversations by the perpetrator with hopes of befriending the individual via gaining their confidence by claiming to be concerned about their future employment and the promise of a recommendation for a specific coaching position.
On one of the subsequent calls, the caller concocts a dubious story of being stranded while traveling and needs to be wired money, which he will quickly repay. While conventional wisdom would immediately send up a red flag, some unsuspecting persons have fallen for this swindle.
Please be aware and assured that Black Coaches and Administrators are not involved in this scam or any other illegal act of deception and have taken the necessary steps to report this scam to the necessary authorities.
The Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA) is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to foster the growth and development of ethnic minorities at all levels of sports both nationally and internationally.
The BCA is committed to creating a positive enlightened environment where issues can be examined closely, debated sincerely, and resolved honestly. The BCA focus involves the concerns of its colleagues in professional sports, NCAA (Division I, II, and III), NAIA (Division I and II), junior college and high school levels.
On May 31, 2007, BCA Board of Directors unveiled the new name of the organization during the 2007 BCA National Convention and Expo.
The name change was made to clarify the expanding membership population of administrators and coaches within the BCA. Subsequently, BCA is now Black Coaches & Administrators.
