HOUSTON -- The Donald Driver Foundation held it's annual Celebrity events to help raise funds for the Foundation and all of it's programs in the Greater Houston area.

Driver, a Pro Bowl wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, grew up in southeast Houston. The product of a single-parent, Driver attended Milby High School and later went on to receive a scholarship to play football at Alcorn State University.

The celebrity weekend kicked off with a golf tournament held at the Sienna Plantation Golf Course. Sponsors and players were teamed up and sent out to play.

The sixth annual Celebrity Pool Tournament took place at Slick Willie's Pool Hall, located at Highway 59 and Buffalo Speedway. Packer players in attendance included: Terrence Murphy, Roy Manning, Colin Cole, Kris Griggs, Chris Johnson, Eric Thomas, Tony Fisher, Nate Wayne, James Jones, Chris Francis, Shantee Orr and quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Actors Phil Morris, Bruce Locke, and Tim Durrant were also in attendance.

Winners of this year's Pool Tournament not only received championship belts, but they also got winners boxing robes with the event name on the back.

The week concluded with a three-day football camp, held at Delmar Stadium, for over 300 kids from the Greater Houston area. The kids were put through drills and learned various techniques at each station.

Each camper received a daily lunch, camp t-shirt, and lots of autographs from Driver. The kids even fell on him as a group after they broke out of a huddle on the field.

"I love to give back to others," Driver said. "To have these events each year is great. But it's even greater to see the impact that we're making, in the lives of others."

"I am greatful that I'm in position to do more and let these kids know that they too can make it regardless of the circumstances. Life is full of challenges, but it comes with the territory."
