Sports seem to be the great equalizer for harmony and companionship amongst friends, family and brethren alike. That goes whether you’re great at it or not so great or just think you’re great. Working up the sweat or cheering those that actually break the sweat does something for the bonding factor.
Murray To Be Honored By Negro League Museum

BASN's Chris Murray, who also writes for the Philadelphia Tribune, was recently named this year's recipient of the Sam Lacy Legacy Award. A native of Baltimore and graduate of Morgan State University, Murray has been a sportswriter/columnist with the Tribune since 2004.

George Taliaferro, 81, made it possible for young African-Americans to dream of playing professional football. After leading Indiana University to its only undefeated Big Ten championship in 1945, Taliaferro became the first African-American drafted by the NFL when the Bears picked him in 1949.

It is important that you tune in to these games because it is perceived as a test by these networks. It will be a test to see if Americans will watch disabled athletes compete in the same events as non disabled athletes.
